PRESIDENTE Y CEO
Paul Griffith is the founder, President and CEO of Over the Edge. Over the Edge is an expansion of the business model of 1801 Drop Zone, of which Paul was a founding partner. He was the driving force behind the growth of Drop Zone from a one-time local event to a robust National series. Paul is the man behind the mission to help non-profits raise 50 million dollars in 10 years. In 2011, Paul was a finalist for the Atlantic Canada "Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year." Paul lives in Halifax with his wife Sue, and their two young girls.
VICE PRESIDENTE DE OPERACIONES TÉCNICAS
Tim is a Technical Rope Instructor and a SPRAT Rope Access Technician. He is a board member of the National Speleological Society’s Vertical Section, whose purpose is to educate and train cave explorers in safe, vertical caving techniques and Single Rope Techniques (SRT). Since 2000, Tim has been the Southeast Regional Coordinator and an Instructor for the National Cave Rescue Commission. Since 1999, he has been a member of the Bridge Day Safety Team; the largest gathering of BASE Jumpers and rappellers in the US.

Debbie joined Over the Edge in November 2010 and has recently moved into the role of Senior Event Manager. Prior to joining OTE, Debbie served as the Vice President of Resource Development for Special Olympics Texas, where she specialized in corporate engagement and sponsorship. Her background also includes working in the newspaper industry (market research) and also for the State of Texas (marketing and PR). Overall, Debbie’s experience ensures OTE’s ability to deliver a quality experience – from customer service to fundraising support – to all clients.
Chad Wicks is our General Manager for Over the Edge. Prior to joining OTE Chad’s career consisted of working for numerous non-profit and for profit organizations, including the television and radio industry. He has worked in all aspects of the respective media outlets and has held positions in Promotions, Marketing, Communications, Events, Development, Sales, and Production. Chad is a Chicken-Fried-Steak connoisseur, an envious traveler, dog lover, amateur landscaper, outdoor appreciator, proud dad and Texan.
As Executive Assistant to founder and CEO Paul Griffith, and the Senior Leadership team, Ashley comes to us as a bright, energetic, and professional young woman. With a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations and a certificate of Human Resource Management, she has brought a wealth of expertise to our team. With past experience in retail management and in an EA role, Ashley has become experienced in demanding hybrid roles. Taking on responsibilities including senior leadership support, office management, and HR duties, we are excited to see what our new EA role will add to the OTE team.

Jenn's can-do attitude helps her conquer a lot. She's experienced the world during her years as a travel agent and she tackled the corporate world in procurement and account management. She's knocked on doors to fundraise and organized participants for community events. As a runner, she's taken on the roads and trails during all four sometimes crazy seasons and there's no culinary feat she's afraid to take on. So it's no surprise Jenn joined the Over the Edge team to bring her passion to do great things for amazing clients.

Menna is known best for her exuberant energy, approachable demeanor, and resourcefulness. After 14 years in event management, fundraising, marketing and communications (amongst a few other forays that you’ll find out about once you get to know her), she’s experienced in bringing projects through the many challenges they inevitably face to achieve desired results for her clients. Menna loves sci-fi tv & film, cooking, and traveling; she's also lived in Toronto and Auckland, New Zealand and currently lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

It seems as if Ashley Stanfield has always been involved in some type of fundraising. From volunteering, to raising funds, to working as a manager and then director of various fundraising programs, Ashley has a strong background in what it takes to make any fundraising event a success. Ashley comes to Over the Edge after serving for three years as the Event Director for Special Olympics Washington. She created and implemented a strong OTE event that saw over $100,000 raised in its opening year and over $200,000 in each successive year. Besides fundraising, Ashley has been a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines for over ten years and takes full advantage of her travel benefits, taking time to see as much of the world as she can.

Kevin is a proud member of our Business Development Team. Throughout his life, Kevin has worked and volunteered with non-profit organizations with a special attention to service to the community. Each step in his journey has taken him progressively to new heights. Kevin’s diverse volunteer background includes: firefighter, paramedic, youth football and lacrosse coach and even started local volunteer start-ups that focused on buying local and feeding the homeless. Most recently, Kevin was a District Manager with Be the Match and Chapter Director of Prevent Blindness Ohio where fundraising and event planning were major components of his position. With his background, Kevin is uniquely positioned to understand the needs of our partners and provide beneficial solutions. Kevin understands that Over The Edge’s goal is to provide quality service to allow the Non-Profit to succeed in its mission and help the people they serve.

Amanda started at Over the Edge in September, 2012, and is thrilled to be working for a company that is dedicated to helping non-profits succeed. The work hard play hard, team based environment at OTE is a perfect fit for Amanda’s positive and ambitious attitude. Having graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce and a heavy interest in business strategy, she is ready to put her corporate knowledge into action as a part of the Business Development Team here at OTE. With a strong passion for sailing, Amanda loves the heavy winds and big waves of the Nova Scotia seas, but to her there is nothing more calming, and at the same time exhilarating, than sailing the warm waters of the Caribbean.

Laura began working for OTE in January 2013. With her rope and rescue equipment sales experience in Latin America, vertical caving background, MA in translation, SPRAT level I certification, and dedication to helping others, Laura has found the perfect combination of her skills and passions in her roles at OTE. She is excited to share this unique event opportunity with nonprofits all over Latin America to help them generate the funds and media exposure they need to carry out their important missions.

Betsy was born and raised in the carnival capital of the world. In 2010 she left Rio, Brazil to pursue a BCom at the University of Victoria; completing her degree in 2014. Fortunate to have had the opportunity to live on three continents, and being multilingual (varying degrees of proficiency in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French) Betsy brings considerable international experience to Over the Edge. She is thrilled to join the Business Development family to support Non-Profits in taking their fundraising efforts to ‘new heights’. Looking for a partner for a weekend hike? A Graduate from Saint Francis Xavier University, Neil is a very well-travelled young man. Like most Over the Edge employees, Neil has a terrific sense of adventure and general curiosity about the world. For example, some of the many places that Neil has lived include China, Australia, and Cambodia. He has also visited Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand! His previous work experiences include Researcher for Environmental Policy, Youth Camp Counsellor, and Private English Teacher.
Rebecca Land Segrest
GERENTE REGIONAL, SUR-ESTE DE EE.UU.
Rebecca is a SPRAT Level III Technician. She began caving in 1999, while a student at Berry College. In 2001, she became involved in rescue with the Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Services and developed a passion for technical rigging and rope rescue. She is a national level instructor and Education Committee Member with the National Cave Rescue Commission. A Registered Nurse who specializes in Cardiovascular Intensive Care, Rebecca maintains an ACLS, BLS and BLS instructor certification through the American Heart Association. Rebecca especially loves working for Over the Edge because of the variety of people she meets and the many different places she visits. When she’s not working, Rebecca enjoys the company of her family, Glenn, Ben, Bonnie and Ace, and she can often be found playing in her garden, on their sailboat, or in a cave.

Brian Hughes has been a climber since 1993, and has worked professionally as a guide and instructor since 1996. He started doing rope access work in 2003. Brian is currently a SPRAT Level III / IRATA Level I rope access supervisor. Brian is married and a father of two wonderful kids, Gillian and Liam. In his spare time, he enjoys climbing and running, and tries to spend as much time outdoors as possible.

For approximately 10 years, Aaron worked as a rock climbing guide in various locations including New York, California, and Nevada. He also designed and helped to build several indoor climbing gyms! In 2010 Aaron found out about Over the Edge via friends in the climbing community, and he thought that it would be a good fit. He started working at OTE events that same year. "I like working with the non-profit organizations, as well as the Over the Edge participants and my fellow employees. Everyone who works for the company is really great and I really enjoy my job," said Aaron.

Jeff Martin is a Certified Sprat Rope Access Technician. He’s been active in the vertical world for 16 years. Jeff is a co-owner of two small businesses, one which deals with vertical gear sales for sport, rescue and industry. He also has training with the National Cave Rescue Commission. Jeff spends most of his free time outside or underground.

George Tasiopoulos is our new Accounting and Compliance Manager. He comes to us with experience working for many small businesses from a variety of industries as well as a strong educational background. His knowledge gained in his courses in the MBA-CMA program at Saint Mary's University will be a great asset to OTE. George has a passion for adventure and is excited to be part of a team that works hard to help others!

Having recently graduated from the Nova Scotia Community College with a Business Administration diploma, and a specialization in Accounting, Sam is ecstatic to join the team as a Bookkeeper, and hone his new found skills. Sam and his wife Carley just recently added a new addition to their life, Finley Rose, and they love being new parents.
