Over The Edge is a special events company that provides signature rappelling events for non-profit organizations throughout the world. To date, Over The Edge has helped raise 80 million dollars for non-profit organizations. Participants are invited to raise pledges in exchange for the experience of rappelling over the edge of a local high-rise building.  As a fast-paced growing company, we are searching for an Accounting Manager who embraces our mission and corporate values. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the tasks relating to financial reporting. This position is responsible for procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position will manage the core functions of an accounting department reporting to the CFO.

Breakdown of Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Ensure an accurate recording of accounting activities
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Direct/support budget and forecasting activities
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
  • Support the daily banking requirements and cash flow management
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly Government Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work with the CFO to ensure a clean and timely year-end report
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
  • Participate in planning the objectives, methods and resources of short and long range financial operations of the company, monitor and report on overall company financial performance
  • Direct and coordinate the accounting, budgeting and other financial operations
  • Recommend policies and procedures relating to financial and business practices of the company
  • Monitor the financial operations of the company or assigned area to ensure compliance with budgets
  • Perform additional duties as directed by CFO

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent understanding of Sage 300 Accounting and basic book keeping
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Proficient with office machines (printer, fax, shredder)
  • Knowledge of Office 365 (SharePoint, Salesforce…), an asset
